What Are Spektrum NX10 Problems and Their Solutions?

We have reported some common Spektrum NX10 problems in the last couple of months, which might cause your flights to even crash. The foremost problem we got reported is the version update problem of NX10.

Aside from this, there are several problems you may face, including aircraft not binding, the receiver’s stopped responding during the operations, the binding might fail, etc.

Some are crucial problems that may need manufacturers’ solutions and some might be fixed DIY. By the way, in this article, we will be sorting out some common problems, their reasons, and their possible solutions. Keep reading for further details.

What Are Spektrum NX10 Problems Can Happen?

Spektrum NX10 radio is one of the great radios of Spektrum by Horizon Hobby. They are efficient enough to control your flights.

Since it is one of the electronics, there are several problems that might happen when you use a Spektrum NX10. Here is a list of possible problems in the following table by troubleshooting the NX10.

Discussion On The Spektrum NX10 Problems And Solutions

We have found the above-mentioned problems might happen to your Spektrum NX10. Here are some brief discussions on the problems and their probable solutions you might get on your NX10 radio.

1. Software Update Issues and Solutions

The NX10 got a firmware bug in its v3.04.14 version update in the Forward programming menus. Thus, the bug impacts the advanced setting. A list of impacted receivers of the NX10 transmitter is-

  • AR630, and AR631
  • AR637T, AR8360T, AR637TA, and AR10360T
  • 6250HX Flybarless Heli Controller

As a result of this firmware version, Horizon Hobby released v3.04.17 as a public beta and hopes this update noticeably fixes the issue. However, these issues need time to be entirely fixed.

Likewise, Horizon Hobby also released the 3.08PB after some days of releasing the 3.07.17. They are expecting a great improvement over the previous 3.07, but you can revert to the previous version if found any issues.

On the other hand, the NX10 had twitching problems in its primary firmware version of v3.03.03. Although this problem was fixed in v3.04.01, nothing is in the latest ones. Here you can check out the twitching issue in this video:

Note: If you already have the v3.04.14, you are requested not to fly your aircraft till having the next update is installed.

2. Aircraft and the Transmitter Might Not Bind Each Other

During binding, the aircraft, and your NX10 transmitter might not bind each other for several reasons. Also, even after the binding, they might get issues in linking. Here are some reasons and solutions to both issues you might find helpful.

  • You may keep the transmitter too near to your aircraft while you are binding or linking them.
  • In this case, move them apart, but not more than a few feet. Then disconnect them and reconnect again.
  • You may have a large metal object near the transmitter or aircraft which interrupts the radio frequency.
  • Move the aircraft and the transmitter away from the object.
  • The battery of the transmitter or the aircraft might get out of charge.
  • Recharge the battery, or change it if entirely damaged.
  • Your transmitter might be bound with a different receiver protocol.
  • In this case, reconnect them with the right protocol.

3. The Receiver Goes FailSafe Mode

The remote receiver on the aircraft may get into failsafe mode. There are two reasons that may play a role.

  • The main aircraft receiver and the remote one might be placed too near.
  • Keep them at least 2 inches away.
  • The receiver’s antenna might have been cut down or damaged for any technical reason.
  • If the antenna gets damaged, replace it from the manufacturer.

4. Receiver Gets No Response While Flying

This could be the worst when such a problem happens. In most cases, if the receiver stops responding when the aircraft is flying, it will crash, which is pathetic. So do the following accordingly.

  • Your flight battery can be low-charged.
  • So, make sure the battery has a proper charge before flying.
  • On the other hand, the wire connecting the battery and the receiver can be damaged or loose.
  • Check before flying. If any issues are found in the connector, tighten them, or replace them if fully damaged.

5. The Aircraft Responds Irregularly During The Flight

Your aircraft may respond irregularly to the transmitter during the flight. This could happen for several reasons.

  • The receiver on your aircraft may get a poor signal due to wrong placement.
  • You can reposition the receiver to get improved radio frequency.
  • the aircraft system might draw more power.
  • Fully charge the battery of your battery-powered aircraft before flying.
  • Also, make sure the  Battery Eliminator Circuit is properly installed based on the power demand of your aircraft.

Aside from this, the electronic feedback to your aircraft’s servo motor could be another reason for irregular response. So, keep off the feedback from the servo to the receiver.
